Before the news that the Afghanistan team withdrew from Group C, coach Mai Duc Chung said it was a pity that the Vietnam women’s team only had one opponent left in the first qualifying round. “We should have had more international matches in the first qualifying round, in order to increase the number of the matches for the players, to be rubbed, to increase their fighting spirit. The current football teams are heavily invested, and so is Nepal. Although they are standing lower than us in the FIFA rankings, we are not subjective. Furthermore, we will play in Nepal with a hot climate like in India. Therefore, all must still be prepared with the right strategic tactics, reasonable, human calculation is needed to be able to add playing opportunities and challenges for all young players to be tested trying to prove yourself before participating in the next tournaments of the year,” said coach Mai Duc Chung.
To prepare for the first tournament in 2023, the national women’s team will officially gather on March 10 and move to Cam Pha, Quang Ninh to practice before returning to the Vietnam Youth Football Training on March 18 to continue forging tactical skills.
