VFF, in collaboration with the AFC, is organizing a Football Medicine and Anti-Doping Course

With the aim of enhancing the quality of medical personnel and healthcare professionals in football training institutions nationwide, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), with support from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), is conducting a Football Medicine and Anti-Doping Course in Hanoi from July 12 to July 15, 2024.

In recent years, alongside efforts to improve technical training and youth development, VFF has also focused on investing in sports medicine to proactively enhance the physical fitness and health of athletes, particularly national teams. This course is organized jointly by VFF and AFC, with participants including healthcare staff from professional football clubs, football training institutions, and sports training centers nationwide.

Participants will receive theoretical and practical training under the direct guidance of AFC medical experts, including Dato’ Dr. Gurcharan Singh, sports medicine physician with over 35 years of involvement in sports medicine and anti-doping programs in Malaysia and internationally, he chairs the AFC Medical Committee and Hon. Director of the Sports Medicine Unit, a member of FIFA Medical Committee & FIFA TUE Advisory Group; FIFA Panel of Instructors for Sports Medicine and F-MARC; Dr. Farrah, a member of the AFC Panel of Medical Officers and FIFA Doping Control Officer; and Dr. Nguyen Van Phu, the Head of the VFF Medical Department, member of the AFC Medical Committee, Panel of AFC Medical and Doping Control Officer.

Over the course of three days, healthcare staffs will update their knowledge on sports medicine, doping control; gain hands-on experience with medical equipment for athlete treatment and emergency care; nutrition; and the solutions in various weather conditions during competitions.

The program also provides an opportunity for participants to engage in direct discussions with experts, facilitating the analysis and sharing of experiences in athlete treatment at the local level. The training program will be held at the Vietnam Football Federation headquarters and the Youth Football Training Center in Hanoi.
