Vietnam national futsal team departs for Indonesia to compete in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026
On the morning of January 24, the Vietnam national futsal team, led by Mr. Trần Anh Minh – Member of the VFF Executive Committee – as Head of Delegation, and head coach Diego Giustozzi, departed for Indonesia to take part in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026 Finals, officially embarking on their journey to conquer the goal of defending the title on the continental stage.
Head coach Diego Giustozzi and his players departed from Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) on a flight taking off at 10:30 a.m., and are scheduled to land at Jakarta’s international airport at 1:50 p.m. on the same day. Upon arrival in Jakarta, the team will travel to their training base to settle in and complete the final preparations ahead of the competition.
Prior to their departure, the Vietnam national futsal team completed a training camp at the Chánh Hưng Ward Futsal Arena (Ho Chi Minh City) and played a series of important warm-up matches, including two fixtures against the Afghanistan national futsal team. These matches were aimed at reviewing the squad, fine-tuning tactics, and enhancing match temperament. Head coach Diego Giustozzi has also finalized the official list of 14 players, who are now ready to take on the challenges of the continental stage.
At the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026 Finals, the Vietnam national futsal team has been drawn into Group B alongside strong opponents including reigning Asian runners-up Thailand, Kuwait, and Lebanon. With thorough preparation, strong determination, and a deep squad, Vietnam aim to perform at their highest level, pursue positive results, and continue to affirm the position of Vietnamese futsal on the continental stage.
