We, Japanese also love football. Football is the driving force behind the relationship between Japan and Vietnam. I am confident that this special friendly match will be a great source of motivation for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of relationship between Japan and Vietnam next year.”

Ambassador Yamada Takio added that, from 2020 until now, despite the influence of the Covid-19 epidemic, the good thing is that the “connection event” of football exchanges between the two countries has not been interrupted. The proof is that the U13 Youth Football Tournament is still held as planned. “I am confident that the upcoming friendly match between Becamex Binh Duong Club and Kawasaki Frontale Club will bring dreams and hopes to the young generation who will be the future of Japan and Vietnam, and at the same time, will strongly promote the Japan-Vietnam relationship, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year,” said Ambassador Yamada Takio.

The friendly match between Becamex Binh Duong Club and Kawasaki Frontale Club is also a match marking 10 years of J.League’s efforts in football exchange activities between the two countries. On the occasion of returning to Vietnam this time, Kawasaki Frontale Club is the defending champion of J.League 1- the highest club tournament of Japan. In the Kawasaki Frontale lineup, there are many notable stars such as Leandro Damiao, Marcinho and especially Chanathip Songkrasin. Mr. Yoshida Akihiro, Vice President of Kawasaki Frontale Club, said that although there are still two final matches in the J.League, Kawasaki Frontale will still choose the best person possible to bring to Vietnam.

For the home team Binh Duong, coaching assistants will also have to calculate the force for this friendly match because November 19 is the last round of the V-League 2022. This means that team must play 2 matches for 2 days in a row. However, the representative of Binh Duong Club confirmed that they will prepare the best factors for the event to welcome Kawasaki Frontale. Mr. Ho Hong Thach, President of Becamex Binh Duong Club said: “On November 19, we still have one last match of the V-League, previously, the two clubs also asked permission from VFF and VPF leaders to arrange the match. This match cannot be changed and must be played at the same time. We will prepare the best force to compete for both these matches. This is an important occasion. Foreign players will play and serve the spectators.”

The friendly match between Becamex Binh Duong and Kawasaki Frontale Club will take place at 5:00 p.m. on November 20, 2022 at Binh Duong Stadium. The match was held with the sponsorship of the Embassy of Japan, the People’s Committee of Binh Duong province and the Vietnam Football Federation. The organisation committtee expects this friendly match to become a symbol of the good relationship between Vietnam and Japan not only in the past 50 years but also towards the future of the two countries’ 100-year friendship in the future.
