11th Executive Committee Meeting of the 9th Term of the Vietnam Football Federation: Reaching Consensus on Key Contents in Preparation for the 2025 Annual Congress
On December 25, the 11th Executive Committee Meeting of the 9th term (2022–2026) of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) was held at the VFF headquarters. The meeting reviewed the results of activities in 2025 and outlined the key tasks for 2026, while also discussing and reaching consensus on a number of important matters in preparation for the 2025 VFF Annual Congress, scheduled to take place on December 26, 2025.

At the meeting, the Executive Committee (ExCo) acknowledged the positive results achieved in 2025, reflecting its close, proactive and resolute leadership in organising and implementing tasks in accordance with the approved plans and objectives. The ExCo particularly recognised the significant contributions of football clubs and training centres in building the national teams, which have delivered outstanding achievements in 2025 as well as in recent years.
Regarding the organisation of the 2025 VFF Annual Congress of the 9th term, the meeting discussed and unanimously approved matters related to the Congress organisation based on the report of the Organising Committee. The Executive Committee noted the strong efforts made by the Organising Committee, with preparations for the 2025 VFF Annual Congress being carried out in line with procedures, on schedule, and in full compliance with the set requirements.
The Executive Committee meeting discussed and unanimously approved a number of important reports and draft documents to be submitted to the Congress, including:
- The draft Report on the Review of Activities in 2025 and the Direction for Implementing Tasks in 2026 of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF);
- The draft Self-Assessment Report of the VFF Executive Committee;
- The Report evaluating the professional performance of the national football teams in 2025 and outlining key tasks for 2026;
- The Report on financial operations and sponsorship mobilisation in 2025, along with the projected budget for 2026;
- The Report on the organisation of the National Professional Football Competitions for the 2025/26 season, together with the proposed plan for the 2026/27 season;
- Agreement on the proposal to nominate the national U21 team to participate in the 2026 Asian Games as part of preparations for upcoming key missions, including the qualification rounds for the 2028 Olympic Games and the 34th SEA Games in 2027 to be hosted by Malaysia.
In addition, the Executive Committee approved the policy to adjust regulations on the registration of youth players (U9–U21) in football competitions from 2026, thereby creating more favourable conditions for the training and development of Vietnam’s next generation of players.
The 11th Executive Committee Meeting of the 9th term of the Vietnam Football Federation was conducted in a serious and responsible manner, achieving a high level of consensus. This provides an important foundation for the successful organisation of the 2025 Annual Congress, while enabling the effective implementation of key tasks aimed at the stable and sustainable development of Vietnamese football in the next phase.
