On the afternoon of June 11, the Vietnamese national team returned to Hanoi, concluding their second matchday in the final round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers after an away game at Bukit Jalil Stadium in Malaysia. VFF General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú personally went to the airport to welcome and encourage the team on behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation’s leadership.

After more than three hours of flight from Hanoi, at 11:15 AM local time on June 6, the Vietnam national team arrived in Kuala Lumpur, preparing for the match against host Malaysia in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.

On the afternoon of May 31, at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Trần Quốc Tuấn had a meeting to encourage the spirit of the National Team and the U22 National Team ahead of their upcoming important assignments. Also in attendance were VFF General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú and Director of the National Teams Department Đoàn Anh Tuấn.

On the evening of March 25, at Go Dau Stadium (Binh Duong), the Vietnam team won 5-0 against the Lao team in the opening match of Group F of the final qualifying round of the Asian Cup 2027.

Hai Long and Văn Vĩ scored early in the first half, giving Vietnam a 2-0 lead. Cambodia mounted a strong comeback after the break and pulled one back through a goal by Bong Samuel, but coach Kim Sang Sik’s side held on to secure the win. This victory completed a smooth test as Vietnam prepares for their upcoming match against Laos in the final qualifying round for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.

On the evening of March 5, 2025, the 19th Cống Hiến Awards were held at the Hanoi Opera House, honoring individuals and organizations with outstanding contributions to sports and cultural arts. This year, Vietnamese football made a strong impression as the Vietnam men’s national football team and player Nguyễn Xuân Son were both recognized in two important categories.

As part of the preparation plan for the Vietnam national football team ahead of their first match in Group F of the final round of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has sent a letter to the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) inviting the Cambodia national team to Vietnam for a friendly match with the Vietnam national team during the FIFA Days in March 2025.

This afternoon (January 14), on behalf of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation, Vice President Trần Anh Tú visited and encouraged national team player Hồ Tấn Tài at the hospital. The defender recently underwent surgery to reconstruct his anterior cruciate ligament and will soon begin the rehabilitation phase of his recovery.

This morning (January 7), President of the Vietnam Football Federation, Trần Quốc Tuấn, visited and encouraged player Nguyễn Xuân Son at Vinmec Hospital. Son had just undergone surgery to treat an injury sustained during the return leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final. Accompanying President Trần Quốc Tuấn were Vice President Nguyễn Trung Kiên and General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú.

In his statement at the press conference after the final victory over Thailand and winning the ASEAN Cup 2024 championship, Coach Kim Sang Sik expressed great pride in his players’ performance. The evening of January 5th marked a historic moment not only for the team but also for the South Korean coach.
