LPBank becomes the main sponsor of LPBank Cup 2024
On August 19, 2024, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Lộc Phát Vietnam Bank (LPBank) held a signing ceremony and announced LPBank as the main sponsor of the LPBank Cup 2024 international friendly football tournament. With LPBank’s support, the tournament will feature three national teams: Vietnam, Russia, and Thailand, and will take place from September 5 to September 10, 2024, at the My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi.

Attending the ceremony from the Department of Physical Education and Sports were Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen – Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Adminstration. From the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), there were Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien – Vice President; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vu – Vice President; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoi – Standing Member of the VFF Executive Committee; VFF Executive Committee members Mr. Do Manh Dung, Mr. Van Tran Hoan, Mr. Tran Van Quynh, and Mr. Tran Huy Duc; representatives from VFF’s functional departments; Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi – Secretary General, and the board of secretaries and functional departments of VFF; and representatives from VFF’s affiliated units: the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, Football Magazine, and VPF.
From the main sponsor, LPBank Vietnam, were Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy – Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Doan Nguyen Ngoc – Deputy General Director; and Mr. Hoang Van Phuc – Deputy General Director. Representing the rights holder of the tournament was Ms. To Nam Phuong – Deputy General Director of FPT Play. From the Vietnam national team, Mr. Kim Sang Sik – Head Coach, was present, along with representatives from the press and media.
The LPBank Cup 2024, held during the FIFA Days in September 2024, is anticipated to be a highly engaging event for football fans and holds significant importance for the Vietnamese national team in the preparation for the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup™ 2024, which will take place at the end of the year. Featuring two high-caliber guest teams—Russia (currently ranked 33rd in the FIFA World Rankings and with 11 World Cup appearances) and Thailand (a top team in Southeast Asia)—the tournament will provide the Vietnamese players with valuable opportunities to refine their skills and tactics. Additionally, it will offer Vietnamese football fans the chance to enjoy thrilling matches.
As the main sponsor of the tournament, LPBank hopes that their involvement will provide exceptional experiences for both the national teams and the fans. The matches of the LPBank Cup 2024 will take place at My Dinh National Stadium at 8:00 PM on September 5, 7, and 10, 2024.
To prepare for the tournament, the Vietnamese national team, featuring players selected by head coach Kim Sang Sik who are currently in best form, is expected to gather on August 30, 2024.
