The VFF and VPF Company meet and extend greetings to sports journalists and reporters on the occasion of June 21

On the afternoon of June 17, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2025), the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), in collaboration with the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF), held a meeting with sports journalists and reporters from the northern region.

Attending the event were Mr. Trần Quốc Tuấn – President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Mr. Trần Anh Tú – VFF Vice President and Chairman of the VPF Board of Directors, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Phú – VFF General Secretary, Mr. Nguyễn Tùng Điển – Member of the VFF Communications Committee and Editor-in-Chief of Bongdaplus Magazine, veteran journalist Đình Khải, along with a large number of journalists, reporters, and sports and news editors from the northern region.

At the meeting, VFF President Trần Quốc Tuấn expressed his gratitude for the valuable contributions and strong support from the media in promoting Vietnamese football over the years. He emphasized that in 2025, alongside the national football leagues, the national teams will also have a busy calendar of activities. These include the men’s national team continuing their journey in the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers, the women’s national team competing in the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers and the AFF Women’s Championship, and the U22 team aiming to defend their regional title while participating in the AFC U23 Asian Cup Qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games.

Additionally, the VFF will continue to focus on nurturing young talent in age groups from U15 to U17 by organizing more training camps in Europe in preparation for future U17 World Cup qualifiers. This is part of a long-standing player development strategy that the VFF has consistently maintained over the years, based on the philosophy that the success of the senior national team must be built on the foundation of well-developed youth teams. The preparation and investment in young players serve as a solid groundwork for achieving sustainable long-term success on the regional, continental, and global stages.

On behalf of VPF Company, VFF Vice President and VPF Chairman Trần Anh Tú extended his congratulations to journalists and reporters on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. He also expressed appreciation for the media’s continued support in spreading passion for football throughout the community via news stories, in-depth articles, and compelling reports on the national football leagues.

Mr. Trần Anh Tú noted that June is a particularly busy time for national professional football tournaments, with the final matches of the season taking place alongside award ceremonies and season-end summaries. Thanks to the efforts of the media, the excitement and competitiveness of the leagues have been widely and consistently conveyed to football fans both domestically and internationally.

He emphasized that the media is not only a “vital bridge” for information but also a source of motivation and constructive feedback. Through their critical and insightful reporting, journalists have played a crucial role in helping the VFF and VPF continuously improve, working together to build and advance Vietnamese football.

Veteran journalist Đình Khải delivered a speech at the meeting

Journalists and reporters shared personal stories about their profession and the close connection they have with the development of Vietnamese football. They also affirmed their commitment to staying engaged and continuing to accompany the growth of football in the country

Journalists and reporters expressed their gratitude to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and VPF Company for their continued support, which has enabled media agencies to fulfill their duties effectively, as well as for always listening to the input and feedback from the press in the shared goal of advancing Vietnamese football.

They also discussed with the VFF the current challenges facing the national team, particularly in light of the growing trend of naturalizing players among other teams in the region. This trend has, in a short period, led to an imbalance in team strength across national teams. On this issue, journalists shared the same viewpoint as the VFF: that national team development should follow a sustainable and balanced direction. This includes thoughtful strategies on naturalized players, while maintaining national identity through deep, long-term investment in youth development and improving the quality of domestic leagues.

A similar meeting and celebration with sports journalists and reporters in the southern region will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 20.
