The Vietnamese Football Federation delegation attended the 75th FIFA Congress
On May 15, 2025, the delegation of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), led by President Trần Quốc Tuấn, arrived in Asunción, Paraguay to attend the 75th FIFA Congress. Accompanying him at the Congress were Vice President Trần Anh Tú and Deputy General Secretary Đinh Thị Thu Trang.
As part of the activities leading up to the Congress, VFF President Trần Quốc Tuấn held meetings and exchanges with leaders of international football organizations to promote strategic cooperation initiatives. Specifically, President Trần Quốc Tuấn met with Mr. Frank Paauw – the newly appointed President of the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) – and KNVB General Secretary Gijs de Jong. On behalf of the VFF Executive Committee, President Trần Quốc Tuấn extended congratulations to Mr. Frank Paauw on his new position. The KNVB leaders expressed interest and stated that they would explore concrete cooperation programs with the VFF in the near future, especially in the areas of youth and women’s football development.
In addition, VFF leadership met with the President of the Ukrainian Football Association – former football star Andrei Shevchenko – to discuss potential collaborative programs aimed at advancing the development of Vietnamese football in the coming period.
Notably, President Trần Quốc Tuấn also held an important discussion with senior leaders of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) regarding the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the VFF and CBF this past March, on the occasion of the State visit to Vietnam by the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Under the MoU, both parties committed to strengthening cooperation across various areas to promote the development of football in Vietnam and Brazil. Key points include organizing regional and international football meetings and conferences, exchanging experts, coaches, and teams at all levels, and sharing experience in managing and organizing professional leagues.

The 75th FIFA Congress was held with the participation of representatives from over 200 member associations around the world. This Congress not only marked a significant milestone—the 100th anniversary of Paraguay’s membership in FIFA—but also served as a platform for football federations worldwide to discuss key issues concerning the global development of the sport.
One of the main highlights of the Congress was the adoption of the revised FIFA Disciplinary Code, aimed at strengthening the response to acts of racism and abuse, with the close cooperation of all 211 member associations. In addition, the Congress approved new regulations for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2025, ensuring that the organization of these tournaments is efficient and fair.
In celebration of FIFA’s 120th anniversary, a special exhibition was held in Asunción, showcasing valuable historical artifacts such as the Jules Rimet Trophy, the FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophy, and the Copa America Trophy, honoring the legacy of football and inspiring the next generation.
