U20 Vietnam practices with U20 Japan in 3 halfs
As part of the training program in Japan to prepare for the 2023 Asian U20 Qualifier, U20 Vietnam had a very useful practice match with U20 Japan at noon on August 17.
This is also the first practice match in a total of 3 practice matches of the U20 Vietnam in Japan. Facing the opponent U20 Japan which is rated higher level, head coach Dinh The Nam took full advantage of the opportunity for all players to play on the field.
On the side of U20 Japan, the match against U20 Vietnam is also considered a very meaningful “exercise” towards the 2023 Asian U20 Qualifier. Therefore, to serve the work in the most effective way. Professionally, the coaching assistants of U20 Japan has agreed with U20 Vietnam’s coaching assistants to organize 3 halfs of 40 minutes each.
Because the match took place in Narashino city and the U20 Vietnam team had to take a flight from Osaka, the players were not in the best shape. In addition, the match took place at 11:00 local time, contrary to the familiar time frame, so the players did not catch up well.
However, the Vietnam U20 players also had the first 2 halfs quite successfully when they only conceded 1 goal in the first half and played well in the second half. However, in the third half, with the advantage of physical strength and higher level, U20 Japan showed the superiority and scored 4 goals against U20 Vietnam, closing the match with a total score of 5-0.
After the match, U20 Vietnam enjoyed traditional Vietnamese cuisine and interacted with officials of the Vietnamese Embassy at PHO77 restaurant in Abiko city. Vietnamese Ambassador in Japan Vu Hong Nam also attended and encouraged the team.
A day after, U20 Vietnam will continue to practice at the J-Green Sakai Training Center. The team has 2 more practice matches, against U18 Cezero Osaka on August 22 and Osaka Sangyo University on August 25. Both of these matches were held at the J-Green Sakai Training Center.
