U20 Vietnam team bids farewell to Uzbekistan, finishing the journey at the 2023 AFC U20 Asian Cup
On the morning of March 8, the U20 Vietnam said goodbye to Uzbekistan to return Vietnam after finishing their journey at the 2023 AFC U20 Asian Cup. Because there is no direct flight, it will take a lot of time for the team of coach Hoang Anh Tuan, to return to transit and is expected to be in Hanoi tomorrow afternoon.
At the 2023 AFC U20 Asian Cup, the U20 Vietnam had a very impressive start with 2 consecutive victories against more highly rated opponents, U20 Australia and U20 Qatar. However, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team failed to pass the group stage regretfully because they lost to Iran and U20 Australia in the sub-index.
According to the schedule, U20 Vietnam will depart from Fergana airport (Uzberkistan) to Istabul airport (Turkey). Here, the team will stop to wait for the connecting flight and at 2:10 am on March 9 will start taking a flight from Istanbul to Noi Bai airport. It is expected that the U20 Vietnam will land in Hanoi at 3:30 pm on March 9, after which the players will be dispersed to the locality. As mentioned above, because there is no direct flight from Uzbekistan to Vietnam, it is force majeure that the team has to take a long time to travel. This is also the most convenient journey that VFF chooses for the whole team.
At Fergana airport, coach Hoang Anh Tuan still expressed his regret when his players were unable to advance to the quarter-finals when they lost the last match against U20 Iran, even though we had 2 very good wins before U20 Australia and U20 Qatar.
“Until now, I still regret it, because the players of U20 Vietnam performed very well in the previous two matches, even they did not play badly in the match against Iran U20. It’s only a regretion that the small shape and the physical strength was down after the recent stressful matches could not help us do better. However, this tournament is also a premise for the boy to make more efforts in their journey ahead”, coach Hoang Anh Tuan shared.
