VFF Deputy Secretary General Nguyễn Thanh Hà appointed as Match Commissioner for ASEAN All-Stars vs. Manchester United game

The AFF has officially appointed Ms. Nguyễn Thanh Hà, Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), as the Match Commissioner for the friendly match between the ASEAN All-Stars and Manchester United. The match will take place on May 28, 2025, at Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

With 20 years of experience as an international match commissioner , Ms. Nguyễn Thanh Hà has established her reputation and professional expertise through numerous major football events organized by FIFA, AFC, and AFF. In men’s football, she has served as a match supervisor for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in 2019 and 2024, including important matches held at large stadiums such as the Thailand vs. Singapore game at Rajamangala Stadium in June 2024.

Additionally, she has been trusted to oversee matches in the AFC Champions League (notably the Ulsan Hyundai vs. Shanghai Port match in November 2024), the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, the AFC U20 qualifiers in Mongolia in 2022, as well as numerous AFC Cup matches since 2008 and the AFF Suzuki Cup 2016 in Manila.

In the fields of women’s football and futsal, Ms. Nguyễn Thanh Hà has been involved as a match commissioner at the Women’s Olympic qualifiers since 2012, the Women’s Asian Cup finals, the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Uruguay 2018, and the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia 2024. Most recently, she completed her duties as Match Supervisor at the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Championship, currently taking place in Inner Mongolia, China.

The match between ASEAN All-Stars and Manchester United is part of the Maybank Challenge Cup, aimed at raising funds to support the YASA charity organization in Malaysia. This event not only provides Southeast Asian players an opportunity to showcase their talents against one of the world’s top clubs but also helps promote humanitarian values through football.

The ASEAN All-Stars team for this match will be led by head coach Kim Sang Sik, the current head coach of the Vietnam national team, and will feature top players selected from AFF member associations. Vietnam proudly contributes four players: defenders Đỗ Duy Mạnh (Hà Nội FC) and Nguyễn Văn Vĩ (Thép Xanh Nam Định), as well as midfielders Nguyễn Hoàng Đức (Phù Đổng Ninh Bình) and Nguyễn Hai Long (Hà Nội FC).
