VFF leadership visits and motivates national U16 futsal player Nguyễn Văn Lực
On the morning of January 22, VFF Deputy General Secretary Nguyễn Minh Châu, representing the leadership of the Vietnam Football Federation, paid a visit to and encouraged goalkeeper Nguyễn Văn Lực of the Vietnam U16 futsal team, who has recently undergone injury surgery at Vinmec Smart City International General Hospital (Hanoi).
Nguyễn Văn Lực unfortunately suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury to his right knee during the opening match of the Vietnam U16 futsal team at the 2025 AFF U16 Futsal Championship and was required to undergo surgery. The operation was performed at Vinmec, a medical facility with a highly experienced team of sports medicine specialists that has successfully treated many elite Vietnamese footballers. Most recently, Vinmec treated and operated on goalkeeper Đoàn Tuấn Phong of the Vietnam U19 futsal team, who also sustained a knee ligament injury following the 2025 AFF U19 Futsal Championship.
During the visit, on behalf of the VFF leadership, Deputy General Secretary Nguyễn Minh Châu encouraged goalkeeper Nguyễn Văn Lực to remain optimistic, strictly adhere to the prescribed treatment plan, and persevere with rehabilitation in order to return to training and competition as soon as possible. He also affirmed that the Vietnam Football Federation will continue to pay close attention to the player’s recovery process and provide timely support to ensure the best possible conditions for the young goalkeeper during his rehabilitation period.
On this occasion, the VFF leadership extended their thanks to the Vinmec Healthcare System, particularly the Vinmec Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Center, for their continued support in the examination, treatment and surgical care of national team players. The strong partnership between the Vietnam Football Federation and Vinmec highlights the important role of sports medicine in safeguarding players’ health and recovery.
