VFF works with HFF on preparations for the 2025 ASEAN U19 Women’s Championship

HCM City, April 18 – a delegation from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held a working session and conducted a site survey with the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HFF) regarding the plan to host the 2025 ASEAN U19 Women’s Football Championship.

Attending the meeting, the VFF delegation included Mr. Nguyễn Văn Phú – General Secretary, Ms. Nguyễn Thanh Hà – Deputy General Secretary, along with representatives from the Competition Department and the Southern Representative Office. The HFF delegation was led by Mr. Trần Đình Huấn – General Secretary, along with technical staff members.

At the meeting, HFF presented their plan for hosting the tournament, which included a proposal to use three stadiums: Thống Nhất Stadium, District 8 Stadium, and Phú Thọ Stadium. Additionally, HFF proposed logistical plans, facilities, medical services, transportation, security, volunteer arrangements, and media coverage.

HFF representatives expressed their desire to host the tournament in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Reunification of Vietnam (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025), viewing it as a historic sporting event that would help promote regional unity.

After discussions, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) agreed to designate HFF as the hosting entity and instructed HFF to ensure full compliance with the standards set by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) and to coordinate with relevant authorities to secure the necessary permissions.

Immediately after the meeting, the delegation conducted a site survey at the proposed venues, including the competition fields and functional rooms for the teams, referees, and officials; as well as the hotels for the teams, AFF officials, and the organizing committee. HFF has committed to doing its utmost to ensure the success of the tournament, presenting a professional and effective image for women’s football in the region.

The tournament will take place from June 9 to June 18, 2025, with the participation of 8 teams: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and host Vietnam.
