Immediately after assembling, the players took to the training ground in high spirits, with a positive atmosphere and strong focus throughout the squad. According to the plan, the Vietnam Women’s National Team will train in Hanoi for more than three weeks before departing for a training camp in China.

During the domestic training period, the team is expected to play two friendly matches against the Uzbekistan Women’s National Team, scheduled to take place in Hanoi on January 26 and 29. In early February, head coach Mai Duc Chung and his players will travel to China for a training camp to improve physical fitness and fine-tune their playing style, before returning home for a short Lunar New Year break and then regrouping.

Speaking ahead of the training session, head coach Mai Duc Chung said that he decided to return to lead the Vietnam Women’s National Team after a period of rest, as his health has recovered and he still has a strong desire to continue contributing to the team. The veteran coach emphasized that the overarching objective of this training camp is to improve physical fitness, maintain a high-pressing, short-possession playing style suited to the physical attributes of Vietnamese players, while also enhancing finishing efficiency.

In terms of personnel, the Vietnam Women’s National Team has called up 28 players, including 23 who took part in the 33rd SEA Games, along with several young additions. Giving opportunities to younger players remains part of the squad rejuvenation plan, aimed at building depth for both the present and the future.

Coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed that the Vietnam Women’s National Team is always open to welcoming young players, especially those who stand out at the National U19 Women’s Championship by demonstrating strong form, fighting spirit, and a desire to contribute.

At the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 finals, the Vietnam Women’s National Team aim to go as far as possible in the tournament.
