HCMC lifts to the championship of Women National League – Thai Son Bac Cup 2023
Ho Chi Minh City I continued to prove their strength when they were crowned for the 11th time in the Women’s National League – Thai Son Bac Cup 2022.

The final round of the tournament witnessed attractive matches that were decisive for the championship. In the early series, Hanoi I had to win against Than KSVN in order to keep the hope of surpassing Ho Chi Minh City I. However, the reality on the field was not easy for team of head coach Jong Song Chon. Than KSVN showed impressive ball control and short coordination. Than KSVN dominated Hanoi I and created a few notable opportunities. Thuy Hang faced goalkeeper Hanoi I, but she lacked sharpness in the finish. Meanwhile, Vu Thi Hoa and Hai Yen also missed opporturnity where they could open the scoring in the match.
Moving to the second half, Hanoi I continued to show efforts to win. However, the psychological pressure makes the shots of the team lack accuracy. Hanoi I had to accept a 0-0 draw against Than KSVN.
In the last match, Ho Chi Minh City I met Phong Phu Ha Nam when they were officially crowned champions when Hanoi I could not beat Than KSVN. This makes Thuy Trang and teammates much more comfortable. In the 15th minute, Thuy Trang escaped and finished accurately to open the score for Ho Chi Minh City I after a beautiful coordination situation with her teammates. In the 25th minute, Thu Thao doubled the lead for HCMC with a dangerous cross-angle shot. The nightmare did not stop with Phong Phu Ha Nam when they conceded a third goal 9 minutes later. The person who made merit for Ho Chi Minh City I is Cu Thi Huynh Nhu.
Entering the second half, Phong Phu Ha Nam rose strongly in search of an equalizer. The efforts of coach Pham Van Hai’s team paid off when Ta Thi Thuy beautifully shot from a distance to shorten the score to 1-3 for Phong Phu Ha Nam. Unfortunately, they could not have more goals in the remaining time. Winning convincingly against Phong Phu Ha Nam, Ho Chi Minh City I officially won the women’s national league – Thai Son Bac Cup 2022. This is the 11th time that coach Kim Chi and her team have won this noble title.
