Under the guidance of head coach Mai Đức Chung, a list of 26 players has been submitted to the Vietnam Sport Adminstration. Notably, no players from Ho Chi Minh City are included in this training camp, as they will be participating in the AFC Women’s Club Championship 2025/26 in mid-November. Assisting coach Mai Đức Chung are experienced coaches Đoàn Minh Hải, former national team player and young coach Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Anh, fitness coach Cedric Serge Christian Roger, and one team doctor.

Speaking about the squad selection ahead of the camp, coach Mai Đức Chung said this is the third national team training camp in 2025 to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand. “This time, we have many promising young players who have shown good performances in recent competitions. We hope they will train hard alongside the senior players to earn their place on the final roster for the SEA Games. Many of the veteran players are now older and wish to give opportunities to the younger talents. The coaching staff also hopes the young players will make quick progress, adapt well, and continue striving to improve,” he shared.

Coach Mai Đức Chung affirmed that the national team’s goal at the upcoming SEA Games remains to defend the championship title. “We all know that other countries are investing heavily in their teams, including naturalizing many players, which poses challenges for us as Vietnamese players are smaller and less physically strong. However, we make up for that with determination, agility, and skill. The Vietnam Football Federation continues to provide strong support for the team, including overseas training and friendly matches against quality opponents to help us learn and gain valuable experience,” said coach Mai Đức Chung.

According to the plan, the team will gather in the morning and hold their first training session in the afternoon of October 21. On November 20, the Vietnam women’s national team will travel to Japan for a training camp, where they are scheduled to play three friendly matches against Japanese women’s club teams.
