Opening of the National Women’s Football Championship – Thai Son Bac Cup 2023
On the afternoon of November 16, at the field of the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the opening ceremony and the first series of matches of the first leg of the National Women’s Football Championship – Thai Son Bac Cup 2023 took place.

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – President of Vietnam Football Federation, Mr. Tran Anh Tu – Vice President of Vietnam Football Federation; Mr. Do Van Nhat – Member of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the VFF’s Women’s Football Committee; Mr. Tran Van Quynh – Member of the VFF’s Executive Committee; Mr. Vo Minh Tri – Member of the Vietnam Football Federation Arbitration Committee and Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha – Deputy General Secretary, Chairperson of the Tournament Organizing Committee.

Speaking to announce the opening of the tournament, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha – Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation, Chairperson of the tournament organizers happily reiterated: “In 2023, Vietnamese women’s football recorded historical milestones when the women’s team competed for the first time at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Finals; Vietnam’s U20 women’s team qualified to the 2024 AFC U20 women’s football Cup. The successes of Vietnamese women’s football have been contributed by the system of national women’s football tournaments as well as women’s football clubs. Turning 25 years old, the National Women’s Football Championship received good news when VFF decided to increase the level of collective and individual awards. The Vietnam Football Federation believes that, with efforts in organization and careful preparation of the teams, the National Women’s Football Championship – Thai Son Bac Cup 2023 will have professional quality, creating a vibrant and attractive competition with a fair-play spirit. This is also the 12th consecutive year that Thai Son Bac Electrical Equipment Trading Co., Ltd. has been attached as the main sponsor.”
As the Official Sponsor of the tournament for 12 consecutive years, Mr. Tran Anh Minh – General Director of Thai Son Bac Electrical Equipment Trading Co., Ltd. shared the joy of 2023 marking an important milestone for Vietnam women’s football when winning the SEA Games for the 8th time and participated in the 2023 Women’s Football World Cup for the first time.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the match between Hanoi I and Ho Chi Minh City I took place at Yanmar Stadium, Vietnam Youth Football Training Center at 5:00 p.m. The match at the same time between Ho Chi Minh City II and Hanoi II took place at stadium No. 1 of the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
In two matches at 2:30 p.m., Phong Phu Ha Nam won 5-0 against Son La; Than KSVN won 4-1 against Thai Nguyen T&T to get all 3 points in the first match.
