Qualifiers – Group D: Korea Republic, Vietnam seal Finals’ berths

Ulaanbaatar: Korea Republic and Vietnam became the first two teams to join hosts Thailand at the AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ 2024 Finals after both secured second straight wins in Group D on Monday.

Nepal 0-5 Vietnam

Chau Doan Phat put Vietnam ahead inside two minutes, his shot going through a line of bodies with Nepal’s keeper Ashish Dangal left unsighted.
Duong Ngoc Linh made it 2-0 in the ninth minute, gathering a rebound from close range before slamming the ball in with Nguyen Minh Tri increasing Vietnam’s lead a minute before half time.
Vietnam continued to push in the second half and in the 22nd minute, a quick interchange of passing opened up space for Tu Minh Quang to find the back of the net.
Nepal improved after that, managing to thwart Vietnamese attacks before eventually conceding a fifth to a Chau shot just before the full time buzzer.
Mongolia 1-6 Korea Republic

Shin Jong-hoon fired the Koreans in front after only three minutes  but they were pegged back by Mongolia, who scored through Ankhbayar Tumurbaatar in the seventh minute.
Korea Republic retook the lead in the 16th minute via Lee Min-hyeok before Shin weaved past two players to score his second of the game, giving his side a 3-1 lead at half time.
In the second period, Mongolia took risks to get back into the game but it benefited Korea Republic instead with goalkeeper Han Sang-seok firing into an unguarded goalmouth in the 26th minute.
Moon Hee-jae made it 5-1 in the 27th minute with Kim Yun-young getting in on the scoring act three minutes later to seal an emphatic win for the Koreans.
