The Vietnam National U22 Team honored by the Hanoi People’s Committee following success at the 33rd SEA Games
On the afternoon of January 7, the Hanoi People’s Committee held a ceremony to honor and reward coaches and athletes who achieved outstanding results at the 33rd SEA Games. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet, Director General of the Vietnam Sports Administration; and leaders of Hanoi City. Representing the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu attended the event.

Hanoi City awards VND 1 billion to the national U22 football team for their convincing championship at the 33rd SEA Games
At the event, Hanoi City announced a reward of VND 3 billion for the Hanoi Sports Delegation participating in the 33rd SEA Games, and also presented a bonus of VND 1 billion to the national U22 football team in recognition of their convincing gold medal achievement, further affirming the position of Vietnamese football on the regional stage.

Within the Vietnam Women’s National Team squad competing at the 33rd SEA Games, Hanoi Sports contributed many key players.
The 33rd SEA Games were held in Thailand from December 9 to December 20, 2025. Within the Vietnam Sports Delegation, Hanoi Sports contributed many key athletes to the national teams, including men’s and women’s football, playing an important role in the overall achievement as the Vietnam Sports Delegation finished among the top three nations at the Games.
In football specifically, players developed through Hanoi’s youth training system continued to occupy many positions in the national U22 team. Winning the SEA Games 33 gold medal was not only a well-deserved reward for the efforts of the coaching staff and players, but also a clear reflection of the effectiveness of a systematic, long-term investment and development strategy for youth football.
Speaking at the ceremony, leaders of Hanoi City affirmed that the achievements of the capital’s football and elite sports are the result of sustained attention and in-depth investment, and also serve as motivation to continue striving toward higher goals at continental and global competitions in the future.
The commendation ceremony represented timely recognition of the contributions made by coaches and athletes, with football continuing to be a highlight, helping to further promote the image of Hanoi sports in particular and Vietnamese football in general following the success at the 33rd SEA Games.
