On the evening of September 8th, the Vietnamese futsal national team departed for Kuwait to begin a short training camp, finalizing their preparations for the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup qualifiers.
Before traveling, head coach Diego Giustozzi has narrowed the list of players to 16. The four players to part ways with the team at this stage are goalkeeper Nguyễn Quốc Giàu, Châu Thạch Khánh Cường, Ala Đoàn Minh Mẫn, and Trần Nhật Trung.
According to the plan, the team will hold a training camp in Kuwait for six days (from September 9 to September 14). During this time, Coach Diego Giustozzi’s team will play two international friendly matches against Kuwait, scheduled for September 11 and September 13.
Sharing before the trip, Coach Diego Giustozzi emphasized: “The two friendly matches against Kuwait are different from the matches in the Asian Qualifiers, but they will be valuable opportunities for key players returning from injuries, such as Đức Hòa and Ngọc Linh, to regain international match rhythm, as well as for other players to gain more experience.”
After the training camp, the Vietnamese futsal team will move directly to China to participate in the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup Qualifiers. According to the draw, Vietnam is in Group E alongside Lebanon, China, and Hong Kong (TQ).
The match schedule has Vietnam facing Hong Kong (TQ) on September 20, China on September 22, and Lebanon on September 24.
