This was the second match between the two teams during their training camp in Oman, as they prepare for the 2025 AFC U17 Championship. In the first friendly on March 25, Vietnam U17 also won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Bui Duy Dang in the 82nd minute.

In the rematch, Vietnam U17 continued to maintain a solid performance and created some notable chances, including a shot by Duy Khang in the 37th minute that went wide of the post. The host team, U17 Oman, also had an opportunity in the 65th minute when they put the ball in the net after a rebound, but the goal was disallowed by the referee due to an offside violation.

The difference in the match came in the 69th minute. From a well-executed free-kick combination, Tan Dung took full advantage of the opportunity to score the only goal of the game. In the 82nd minute, Gia Bao made a clever individual move to bypass the opposing defender, but his shot narrowly missed the post.

Later, U17 Oman had a chance to equalize in the 90th minute, but their shot hit the post, and the match ended with a 1-0 victory for Coach Cristiano Roland’s team.

After this match, the Vietnam U17 team will travel to Saudi Arabia to officially begin their journey at the 2025 AFC U17 Championship. In the group stage, they will face U17 Australia on April 4, U17 Japan on April 7, and U17 UAE on April 10. If they finish in one of the top two spots in the group, Vietnam U17 will secure a ticket to the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup.

The two stages of preparation, including one domestic camp and one in Oman, have provided the players with important friendly matches to gain experience and finalize their preparations before facing the big challenge at the continental tournament.
