U20 Vietnam draw 0-0 U20 Palestine in a friendly match at Viet Tri Stadium
Many opportunities were created in the 90 minutes of the friendly match between U20 Vietnam and U20 Palestine, but both teams could not take advantage to make a goal. The match ended with a 0-0 draw, thereby also leaving many valuable experiences for U20 Vietnam and U20 Palestine in the final preparation step before entering the 2023 AFC U20 Asian Cup Qualifier.
Head coach Dinh The Nam has almost used the strongest formation to win the international U19 tournament in Binh Duong. U20 Vietnam controlled the ball with the mobility of captain Khuat Van Khang or the positivity of Dinh Bac and Van Tu. Quoc Viet had the first chance, but the final kick was incorrect. After minutes of exploring the opponent, U20 Palestine began to regain the game and create balance in the field.
The team from the Middle East has very well exploited the space between the wing-back and the center-back of U20 Vietnam with long passes that cross the line accurately. In the 16th minute, Qais Mohamad Alhattab had a chance. Fortunately for U20 Vietnam, goalkeeper Huy Hoang played excellently. The next minutes were quite balanced when both sides played slowly on the home areas.
After 30 minutes, the match became more interesting, with each side having opportunities to open the scoring. Dinh Bac started with the ball in the penalty area, but his kick failed to beat the Palestinian goalkeeper. Not long after that, the away team had an accurate long pass, but once again captain Sandouqua could not beat Huy Hoang. In the 43rd minute, Anh Tu returned favorably for Quoc Viet to finish, but the kick of the striker of U20 Vietnam missed the goal.
The first half ended without a goal, but it can be said that the young players on both sides left certain impressions. At the beginning of the second half, the away team made some adjustments, but not enough to create a diffirent. Like the first half, Quoc Viet played extremely aggressively, but this striker lacked sharpness when standing in front of the goal. In the 50th and 60th minutes, Quoc Viet had a good chance, unfortunately this striker could not beat the substitute goalkeeper Karim Al Kassem.
Head coach Dinh The Nam then continued to make adjustments with the introduction of Chau Phi, Ngoc My, Thanh Dat, and Dang Duong, but U20 Vietnam’s gameplay still did not have a mutation. In the last minutes, U20 Vietnam had another delicious opportunity when Dang Duong finished at the right goalkeeper position.
Drawing 0-0 with U20 Palestine in the match with many oppoturnities, the coaching assistants was not satisfied, however this is a valuable experience for the players in the finishing stage before the AFC U20 Asian Cup Qualifier 2023.
