VFF leaders extend Lunar New Year greetings to two women’s youth national team squads ahead of the Tet holiday

Ahead of the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse) 2026, on behalf of the VFF leadership, General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu visited the training ground to extend New Year greetings to the coaching staff and players of the two women’s youth national team squads currently training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
According to the plan, the players will take their Tet holiday from 12 February and resume training on 23 February (the 7th day of the Lunar New Year). Travel arrangements and logistics for the players to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet with their families have been carefully coordinated and prepared by VFF.
During the meeting with the young players, VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu asked about their training progress, daily living conditions, and each player’s plan to return home for the Lunar New Year. He also conveyed the New Year greetings from the Standing Committee of the VFF Executive Committee and the VFF office to the players’ families.
Encouraging the two women’s youth national team squads, VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu acknowledged the players’ efforts and their serious training spirit over the past period. He also expressed his expectation that they would follow in the footsteps of their senior players, who are currently competing, training internationally, and preparing for major continental tournaments.
VFF believes that from today’s young generation, many outstanding players will continue to emerge and make valuable contributions to the national women’s teams in the future.
At the meeting, VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu also presented the contract and congratulated Coach Okiyama Masahiko on continuing his cooperation with VFF in youth development.
