In order to promptly encourage the players, on the afternoon of January 6 at the VFF headquarters, VFF General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú, together with representatives of the relevant departments, paid a visit to check on the health conditions and treatment progress of the two players.

Accordingly, Bùi Vĩ Hào sustained his injury during a training session on January 4. Immediately after returning to Vietnam, he was taken to Vinmec Hospital for thorough examination and assessment. Medical results showed that Vĩ Hào suffered a fracture of the right fibula and is expected to require approximately 6–8 weeks of rehabilitation before being able to return to training and competition.

Earlier, Nguyễn Tân was injured during a training session on December 28. Medical examinations determined that he suffered a soft-tissue injury to his left shoulder, requiring around 2–3 weeks of treatment, after which his recovery status will be reassessed.

In line with their personal wishes, Nguyễn Tân returned to Công an TP Hồ Chí Minh FC, while Bùi Vĩ Hào returned to Becamex Bình Dương FC to continue treatment and rehabilitation. The VFF Sports Medicine Department will continue to closely monitor and coordinate with the clubs in following up, evaluating and conducting regular check-ups to ensure the best possible recovery for both players.

During the visit, General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú offered words of encouragement and shared with the players, while also providing specific guidance on appropriate daily routines and training plans during their injury treatment, wishing them a speedy recovery and an early return to competition.

Although unable to take part on the pitch, Bùi Vĩ Hào and Nguyễn Tân said they would follow the match online and continue to support the team, cheering on their Vietnam U23 teammates in the opening match of the AFC U23 Asian Cup finals, scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m. today at Abdullah Sports City Hall Stadium in Jeddah.
