At the meeting, the leadership of the Dong Thap Football Federation presented an overview of its recent activities. According to the report, the federation has annually coordinated the organization of numerous provincial-level football competitions, grassroots football activities, and school and university football events. It has also maintained the Dong Thap Television International Futsal Tournament, which has left a positive impression on fans and participating teams from both Vietnam and abroad.

Refereeing activities, the Former Players Association, and various community football programmes have also been regularly maintained. During the second half of 2026, the Dong Thap Football Federation will cooperate with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) to organize the Youth Women’s Football Festival at Dong Thap University. At the same time, preparations are being made for the Congress of the newly established Dong Thap Football Federation for the 2026–2031 term following the administrative merger process.

Speaking at the meeting on behalf of the Standing Committee of the VFF Executive Committee, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoi acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Dong Thap Football Federation in maintaining its activities, developing local football movements, and contributing to the overall growth of Vietnamese football over the years.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoi emphasized that Dong Thap is one of Vietnam’s traditional football strongholds, having produced and supplied many quality players to the national teams, while also possessing a highly successful youth development system. In the new context following the merger with Tien Giang Province, the Dong Thap Football Federation should focus on thorough preparations for its 2026–2031 Congress, which is expected to take place in July. This includes establishing an appropriate organizational structure and selecting capable and dedicated personnel to meet the development requirements of the new period.

The VFF leadership also affirmed its commitment to continuing support for member associations in general and the Dong Thap Football Federation in particular through coach, referee and football administrator education programmes; the development of grassroots football, school football, women’s football and youth football. At the same time, the VFF encouraged the Dong Thap Football Federation to proactively seek sponsorship opportunities, promote socialization efforts, and make full use of the support and guidance from local authorities and state management agencies in order to generate additional resources for football development.

On behalf of the Dong Thap Football Federation, Mr. Ngo Be, President of the Dong Thap Football Federation, expressed his sincere appreciation to the VFF leadership for their continued attention and support, as well as for sending a delegation to visit and work directly with the local federation, providing encouragement and valuable experience in football development.

Mr. Ngo Be noted that the remarkable achievements of Vietnamese football in recent years, particularly the successes of the national teams at regional and continental competitions, are the result of a well-oriented development strategy and the effective leadership of the Vietnam Football Federation.

The President of the Dong Thap Football Federation also emphasized that direct visits and working sessions with member associations are highly meaningful activities. They help strengthen the connection between the VFF and local football federations, provide opportunities for member associations to promptly report difficulties and propose development solutions, and enable them to receive guidance and support from the VFF. Such exchanges contribute to improving coordination efficiency and promoting the sustainable and comprehensive development of Vietnamese football from the grassroots level.

The programme of visits and working sessions with local football federations is an annual activity of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), aimed at strengthening connections with its member associations, gaining a better understanding of football development at the local level, and listening to challenges, concerns, proposals and recommendations from member federations.

Through these visits, the VFF seeks to identify appropriate support measures and development solutions, thereby contributing to the advancement of grassroots football, school football, youth football and elite football throughout the country.
