VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan meets with U20 Vietnam
Before the training session on the afternoon of January 2 of U20 Vietnam at PVF Youth Football Training Center (Hung Yen), VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan met and encouraged the team’s spirit.
Accompanying VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan was also General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi and representatives of VFF functional departments. At the beginning of the meeting, President Tran Quoc Tuan wish a happy new year and good health to the members of U20 Vietnam. “U20 Vietnam gathers at the time of transition between the old year and the new year, right on the occasion of the 2023 New Year, but the whole team still maintained training and implemented the lesson plan proposed by the coaching assistants. On behalf of the VFF Standing Committee, I commend the training spirit of the whole team. From now until the 2023 AFC U-20 Asian Cup is about 2 more months, I hope the whole team will have the best preparation to complete the target.”
According to President Tran Quoc Tuan, attending the final round of the Asian U20 Asian Cup is a great opportunity in the career of U20 players. In order to participate in the World Cup in the future, the national youth teams must regularly participate in the final round of the Asian Youth Championships. In 2022, Vietnamese football is among the few countries where young teams have qualified for the Asian competition.
“This is an encouraging achievement, showing the effective investment of the VFF. Only when young players go out to play can they mature professionally and approach the international level. VFF will continue to invest so that the players can adapt to the high level. VFF will create all the best conditions for U20 Vietnam to be well and effective prepared, including training camp and international friendly match, in the process towards the 2023 AFC U20 Asian Cup because this is a tournament to qualify for the 2023 U20 World Cup…”, emphasized President Tran Quoc Tuan.
“The team is led by coach who has the name in the international arena. I very much hope that coach Hoang Anh Tuan will bring U20 Vietnam to get good results in the next period. U20 Vietnam has attended the U20 World Cup and then the players as Quang Hai have made many career advancements. Vietnam Team currently has a lot of mature players when playing in the U19 Vietnam in the 2016-2017 period such as Tan Tai, Quang Hai, Tien Linh, Hoang Duc… Therefore, I have high expectations for the current generation of U20 players to extend the success of the previous players,” said President Tran Quoc Tuan.
At the meeting, President Tran Quoc Tuan said that through the relationship between the Vietnam Football Federation and the Saudi Arabia Football Federation, before participating in the final round of the 2023 Asian U20 Asian Cup, U20 Vietnam will have a friendly match in the city of Dubai (UAE).
Before the end of the meeting, on the occasion of the new year 2023, on behalf of the VFF Standing committee, President Tran Quoc Tuan gave gifts to members of the U20 team.
