VFF’s President Trần Quốc Tuấn met with leaders of the Football Federation of the DPR Korea and Uzbekistan, aiming towards future cooperation
During the ongoing meetings of the FIFA functional committees in Doha, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Trần Quốc Tuấn — member of the FIFA National Teams Competition Committee for the 2025-2029 term, and Standing Member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), along with VFF General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú — member of the AFC and FIFA Medical Committee, had discussions with leaders of the Football Federation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Uzbekistan Football Federation, aiming to lay the foundation for future cooperation directions.
During the exchange with the Vice President of the Football Federation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, both sides shared information and expressed their desire to strengthen cooperation in the development of women’s football through exchange activities, training, and professional exchanges. Currently, North Korea’s football teams—both men’s and women’s—are consistently among the top in Asia, having participated multiple times in the World Cup finals, with particular strength and tradition in women’s football.
Meanwhile, during the meeting with the Acting Vice President of the Uzbekistan Football Federation, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Trần Quốc Tuấn, discussed the potential for cooperation in the development of youth football, women’s football, and futsal. Uzbekistan is regarded as one of the dynamically developing football nations in Asia, with a well-structured and effective youth training system, achieving notable success at various youth national team levels in recent years.
The exchanges took place in an open, constructive atmosphere, demonstrating a long-term willingness to cooperate among the federations, with the aim of sharing experiences, enhancing training quality, competition, and football management. These are considered important initial steps, opening prospects for positive future cooperation, contributing to the goal of improving the quality and position of Vietnamese football on regional and continental stages.
These side-line exchanges during FIFA activities continue to affirm the Vietnam Football Federation’s proactive policy of international integration and expanding international cooperation, thus creating additional opportunities for learning, improving professional standards, and promoting the sustainable development of Vietnamese football in the coming period.
