Mr. Takeshi Koshida, a Japanese national, officially assumed the role of VFF Technical Director on June 1, 2023. Nominated by the Japan Football Association’s technical department, he is widely recognised as a highly experienced football expert with a solid professional background, holding a Pro Coaching Licence and boasting more than 30 years of experience in coaching and technical management across both senior national teams and youth levels. With his extensive practical experience, Mr Koshida has also been trusted by the Japan Football Association to take part in national coach education, directly teaching in C, B and A coaching licence courses.

Since taking on the position of VFF Technical Director, Mr Koshida has served as an instructor in numerous coaching courses and professional seminars organised by the VFF. He has also worked closely with the technical department and coaching staffs of Vietnam’s youth national teams in providing direction, building plans, and developing the Vietnamese youth football training system. In addition, he has been directly responsible for developing human resources for Vietnamese football, particularly young coaches and technical directors at clubs and football centres, contributing to enhancing professional standards and updating modern international training trends and methods—thereby helping narrow the development gap between Vietnamese football and regional and global football.

Speaking at the contract extension signing ceremony, Mr Takeshi Koshida shared: “Since signing my contract with the Vietnam Football Federation in June 2023, over the past nearly three years, I have been involved in delivering many training courses for around 300 participants. I would like to thank the VFF leadership for always creating favourable conditions and providing support so that I could complete this workload. In the time ahead, with the VFF’s trust and with additional colleagues from Japan joining, I hope to continue fulfilling my duties well and contribute even more to the development of Vietnamese football.”

The contract extension with Mr Takeshi Koshida reflects the VFF’s confidence in him and its consistent direction in pursuing a sustainable development strategy, with education and the enhancement of human resources as the foundation for the long-term growth of Vietnamese football.
