AFC/VFF ‘B’ Certificate Coaching Course 2026 concludes
On June 8 at Hoai Duc Stadium in Hanoi, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held the closing ceremony of the AFC/VFF ‘B’ Certificate Coaching Course 2026, marking the successful completion of a 23-day training programme conducted in two phases between April and June 2026.
The course was conducted in two phases: the first phase took place from April 1 to April 12, 2026, at the National Defence Sports Centre 3 in Da Nang, while the second phase was held from May 29 to June 8, 2026, at Hoai Duc Stadium in Hanoi. A total of 23 participants attended the course, comprising coaches currently working at football training centres, clubs and local football associations across the country.
One of the highlights of this year’s programme was the involvement of Mr. Tran Duc Toan as the first Vietnamese instructor to directly deliver an AFC/VFF ‘B’ Coaching Certificate Course. He conducted the course under the guidance, assessment and technical supervision of Mr. Koshida Takeshi, VFF Technical Director.
The programme also marked the first AFC/VFF ‘B’ Coaching Certificate Course to be organized in 2026, with the next edition scheduled to take place in August.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Koshida Takeshi expressed his gratitude to the local organizing committee and the Hoai Duc Commune General Services Centre for providing excellent facilities, including training pitches and classrooms, which contributed significantly to the successful delivery of the course. He also highly appreciated the support of the local U15 players who participated in the practical coaching sessions.
The VFF Technical Director emphasized the particularly important role of the AFC/VFF ‘B’ Coaching Certificate in the training and development of young players, who represent the future core of Vietnamese football. He expressed his hope that the participants would effectively apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the course to improve coaching standards in their respective localities, while also creating a positive training environment that fosters enjoyment and motivation among young players.
Mr. Koshida also expressed his expectation that many of the participants would continue their coaching education by pursuing higher-level AFC coaching qualifications in the future.
On behalf of the Vietnamese instructor team, Mr. Tran Duc Toan expressed his sincere appreciation to the VFF, the local organizing committee, the participants and the support staff for their contributions to the success of the course. He emphasized the importance of continuous learning, absorbing new knowledge and transforming the lessons gained into practical working methods suited to local conditions and realities.
According to Mr. Tran Duc Toan, the ultimate goal of coach education is to create the best possible environment for player development, as players should always remain at the centre of all coaching activities.
Representing the participants, class representative Do Trong Hai of Thanh Hoa FC extended his gratitude to the VFF, the instructors, the organizing committee and the host venue for providing the conditions necessary for the successful delivery of the course. He noted that despite having to train and study in hot weather conditions, the spirit of unity, cooperation and mutual support among the participants enabled the entire class to successfully complete the programme and acquire valuable knowledge that can be applied to their professional work.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Khanh Manh, Director of the Hoai Duc Commune General Services Centre and Deputy Head of the Local Organizing Committee, stated that the host locality had made every effort to provide the necessary facilities, training pitches and support services for the course.
He expressed his satisfaction that the programme had been conducted smoothly, safely and in accordance with the planned schedule. Mr. Nguyen Khanh Manh also wished all participants success in their final assessments and encouraged them to effectively apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the course to their coaching activities.
The AFC/VFF ‘B’ Coaching Certificate Course 2026 concluded successfully, continuing to contribute to the improvement of coaching standards in Vietnam. The programme represents an important step in strengthening the quality of the country’s coaching workforce, supporting the long-term development of youth football and professional football in the years ahead.
