BINH DUONG (3 July 2014) – It was a trip to Binh Duong which the Myanmar national side would rather forget when they were thrashed 6-0 by a marauding Vietnamese side at the Go Dau Stadium.

Newly unveiled head coach Toshiya Miura got the start he wanted as prodigal son Le Cong Vinh blasted in a hat-trick.

Newcomer Nguyen Hai Anh grabbed brace as substitute Nguyen Van Quyet completed the rout against a Myanmar side led by Radojko Avramovic.

While Vietnam are using the game to polish up a squad for the main draw of the AFF Suzuki Cup which they will be hosting one group in Hanoi, the Myanmar side will have to play in a qualifying competition in Laos in September.
