Opening Ceremony of the AFC/VFF ‘C’ Certificate Coaching Course in Ho Chi Minh City
On the morning of April 2, 2026, the Opening Ceremony of the AFC/VFF ‘C’ Certificate Coaching Course was solemnly held in Ho Chi Minh City. The event was attended by representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Sport, the VFF Grassroots, Coaching Education & Member Associations Department, the instructors, assistant instructors, and all participating candidates.
This is the first course implemented under the cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Sport, aimed at enhancing the efficiency of training and developing high-quality football coaching human resources.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Vo Quoc Thang – Rector of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Sport – expressed his honor as the university continues to accompany the VFF in organizing professional training courses. The Rector emphasized that over the years, the two entities have collaborated closely to effectively organize coaching and refereeing courses according to Asian Football Confederation (AFC) standards, thereby contributing to the quality improvement of Vietnam’s football workforce. The university commits to continuing to provide favorable conditions in terms of facilities, learning environment, and organization to ensure the course achieves the highest professional efficiency.
Representing the instructor team, Mr. Phan Ba Hung provided an overview of the training curriculum, which is developed according to AFC standards. The program features modern content with high practical relevance, closely aligning with the current demands of football development. The instructors committed to conveying knowledge with dedication while encouraging candidates to be proactive in learning, exchanging ideas, and flexibly applying the curriculum to their practical coaching work.
On behalf of the candidates, class monitor Pham Ngoc Uyen expressed the honor of participating in the course and committed to strictly complying with the regulations, actively studying, and practicing to enhance professional qualifications and better meet job requirements in the coming time.
Over the years, the Vietnam Football Federation has always prioritized the training and fostering of coaches through the regular organization of specialized courses and workshops. This AFC/VFF ‘C’ Certificate Coaching Course in Ho Chi Minh City is expected to continue contributing to the quality improvement of the coaching staff, thereby making a positive contribution to the sustainable development of Vietnamese football.
The course takes place from April 2 to April 14, 2026, featuring a curriculum that combines theory and practice in accordance with AFC ‘C’ Diploma coaching standards. Upon completion of the course, qualified candidates will be awarded the AFC/VFF ‘C’ Certificate by the Vietnam Football Federation in accordance with regulations.
