Quarterfinals of the Asian Futsal Cup 2024: Unfortunate for Vietnam!
Taking the lead, Vietnam futsal team was unable to keep the score, allowing the opponent to equalize near the end of the second half and then take the lead in the last minute of the match…
The match is considered extremely difficult for the Vietnam futsal team because Uzbekistan is too strong. However, Coach Giustozzi’s players entered the game quite confidently, and in the first minute of the match, they had a dangerous attack on their opponent’s goal. The balance was maintained by the Vietnamese players, despite receiving a lot of pressure from the Central Asian team.
For more than half of the first half, Vietnamese futsal players still played very well and maintained balance under the pressure of their opponents. In the 12th minute, in a quick counterattack, Duc Hoa had a chance to score, but unfortunately, the shot was inaccurate. The pressure became even greater from the 15th minute when Uzbekistan played power play, they attacked massively to find a goal, but goalkeeper Van Y still played very alertly and was a reliable stopper for his teammates.
In the 17th minute, from his teammate’s corner kick, Thinh Phat put the ball into Uzbekistan’s net to open the score 1-0 for Vietnam. With only 1 minute left in the first half, Thinh Phat continued to have a header that narrowly missed the goal.
Being behind, Uzbekistan continued to increase the pressure on Vietnam’s goal, aiming to equalize the score when the second half started. The Central Asian team even played a power play early to increase the pressure on goalkeeper Van Y’s goal, but coach Giustozzi’s players still stood firm.
In the 26th minute, Duc Hoa had a dangerous shot, but goalkeeper Elmurodov promptly saved Uzbekistan. However, after that, there were consecutive shots at the Vietnamese team’s goal, but with excellence and luck, goalkeeper Ho Van Y still miraculously kept the net clean for the home team.
The close play of the Vietnamese futsal team made the Uzbekistan opponent quite confused and unable to finish accurately despite many opportunities. Not only that, the Vietnamese team also had very impressive responses, especially in the 29th minute, Anh Duy was able to increase the score, but his shot regrettably hit the bar.
Towards the end, the pressure became heavier on the Vietnamese team’s field, even though the opponents continued to play power play and the unexpected happened when Uzbekistan equalized 1-1 in the 34th minute, thanks to Tulkinov’s goal. The equalizer made Uzbekistan more excited and continuously increased the pressure on Van Y’s goal, but luck still helped Vietnam’s goal stand firm.
In the 37th minute, Minh Quang passed the opponent’s goalkeeper, but his shot hit the post. When there was only 1 minute left in the match, Juraev scored to increase the score to 2-1 for Uzbekistan. This is also the final result of the match, thereby helping Uzbekistan win a ticket to the semi-finals. Regret for the Vietnam futsal team!
