Vietnam U20 women’s team hold a training match with Ho Chi Minh City I Women’s FC in Long An
As part of their training preparations for the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 finals, set to take place in Thailand from April 1, the Vietnam U20 women’s national team played a training match against Ho Chi Minh City I Women’s FC in Long An.

In this match, the Vietnam U20 women’s team started proactively and took an early lead. In the 23rd minute, number 25 Nguyen Thi Quy found the back of the net following an attack down the left flank. The opposing defense failed to clear the ball decisively, allowing her to finish accurately and put Vietnam U20 women ahead 1-0.
However, Ho Chi Minh City I Women’s FC responded quickly. In the 37th minute, Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan scored the equalizer to make it 1-1, bringing the match back on level terms before the end of the first half.
In the second half, the game remained lively. In the 68th minute, Tuyet Ngan capitalized on an inaccurate back pass from Vietnam U20 women’s midfield to score her second goal, putting Ho Chi Minh City I Women’s FC ahead 2-1.
At full time, Vietnam U20 women’s team suffered a 1-2 defeat to Ho Chi Minh City I Women’s FC. According to the plan, the team will have two more training matches in Ho Chi Minh City before departing for Thailand to compete in the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 finals.
