Focus on well implementing plans for 2024

During the 10 months of 2023, Vietnam football continuously took place many important events and achieved many results, from the national team level to the successful organization of national tournaments as well as other activities. The Congress agreed on key tasks for 2024

According to assessment, the first year of operation of the term IX of the VFF (2022-2026) despite difficulties, the VFF has proactively and effectively implemented the set goals and tasks, proactively implementing solutions in the process of managing, operating and organizing football activities to meet the requirements set in the new situation.

The Congress agreed to focus on the following main goals and tasks in 2024:

1/ Continue to implement tasks on the basis of “Project to develop Vietnamese football towards the World Cup 2026-2030”, “Project to develop grassroots football in the period 2020-2030” and Project “Chapter Presenting the goal of developing resources (training athletes) to participate in the finals of the World Cup 2030, Asian Games 2027, 2031 and Olympics 2008, 2032” of the VFF Strategy Committee;

2/ Continue to invest in the development of youth football and the youth tournament system;

3/ Implement solutions to improve the quality of national women’s football tournaments; Consider organizing more international friendly tournaments for women’s football; Create conditions for Vietnamese women’s football clubs to participate in international tournaments;

4/ Continue to support member organizations in human resource training – coaches, training programs, expertise in organizational work…;

5/ Coordinate with the Ministry of Education and Training to develop school football; Prioritize remote and remote provinces, areas facing difficulties, towards children and towards the community; Continue to support the FFAV Community Football project to implement activities according to the FFAV Community Football model;

6/ Implement the “Project for developing school football movement in Vietnam for the period 2020-2030”, including content on the strategy for developing the school football in Vietnam;

7/ Continue to maintain and develop grassroots football tournaments. Coordinate closely with organizers of movement tournaments, ensuring the organization of tournaments is more professional and improving the quality of tournaments to create a healthy playground and attract a large number of spectators come to cheer for the grassroots football.

8/ Increase attention and coordination and help local football federations and members of the Vietnam Football Federation in promoting the expansion of movement football tournaments, especially football tournaments in local schools to create a position and promote the role of member Football Federations; Support localities that currently do not have a Provincial or City Football Federation to strive to establish a Football Federation to develop the football training and competition movement in the province and city as well as contribute to the National.

9/ Implement licensing for clubs to participate in AFC club-level tournaments, national championships for the 2024/2025 and 2025/26 seasons.

10/ Continue to strengthen solutions for training, development and improvement of arbitration work; Ensuring quality in organizing assessors and referees training participation in officiating at tournaments.

11/ Strengthen solutions in marketing and sponsorship activities to increase revenue for 2024 and the coming years;

12/ Improve the quality of the organization of national professional football tournaments to add value to the tournaments, attract audiences to the stadium, and gradually approach many continental and world standards; Increase the application of VAR technology at matches to ensure accuracy, support referees in officiating, and create fairness for clubs during competition; Continue to organize VAR technology training courses for referees and technicians;

13/ Research and plan the number of clubs in professional tournaments in accordance with the actual conditions of Vietnamese football;

14/ Continue to maintain a stable competition system for national non-professional football tournaments;

15/ Continue to promote integration and strengthen international cooperation to create more resources for the development of Vietnamese football;

16/ Implement the FIFA Connect project for non-professional clubs; Build a database to review player and coach qualifications before registering to participate in national football tournaments;

17/ Strengthen the prevention and control of negativity at national football tournaments;

18/ Continue to invest and develop VFF’s social media channels through specific cooperation with partners.
