VFF’s Annual Congress 2023, term IX (2022-2026)

Pursuant to the Charter of the Vietnam Football Federation and with the consent of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Vietnam Sports Adminstration, agreeing for the Vietnam Football Federation to organize the 2023 Annual Congress, term IX (2022-2026); In order to evaluate the performance results in 2023 and decide on the direction and key tasks of work in 2024, on the morning of October 15, 2023, at the VFF headquater, the 2023 VFF Annual Congress, term IX (2022-2026) took place.

Attending the Congress were Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy – Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh – Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Training and Sports; Representatives of the Department of Literature and Commune of the Government Office, the Department of Emulation and Rewards of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security, Room 7, Department A03 of the Ministry of Public Security, AASC Auditing Company, and functional rooms of the Department of Sports and Physical Training.

On the side of former leaders of VFF, there are Mr. Mai Liem Truc – former Chairman; Mr. Tran Duy Ly – former Acting President.

On the part of international football organizations: Mr. Lorenzo Fofi – MA Regional Coordinator, MA Division Asia & Oceania (FIFA); Ms. Nhodkeo Phawadee – Head of ASEAN Unit, Development Department, MA Governance Department and RA Governance Department, MA Division (AFC); Mr. Winston Lee – General Secretary of AFF.

Regarding the current leadership of VFF, there are: Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – President, Mr. Tran Anh Tu – Vice President, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vu – Vice President, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien – Vice President, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoi – Standing member of the Executive Committee; Heads of functional departments, National Coach Council, Representatives of leaders of VFF member organizations, General Secretariat, representatives of units under VFF and numerous of press and media agencies.

At the Congress, the Vietnam Football Federation and VFF’s President Tran Quoc Tuan was honored to be awarded the Third Class Labor Medal for outstanding achievements in the career of building and developing Vietnamese Football and effective contributions in improving Vietnamese football’s position in the international arena.

Next, the Congress approved the Report on verifying the status of Delegates attending the Congress; voted to suspend the membership status of the following member organizations: Saigon Football Club, Can Tho Football Club, Long An Football Club (Second Division), Kon Tum Football Team, Futsal Club Saigon FC, Hung Gia Khang Dak Lak Futsal Club; unanimously approved the list of the Presidium and Secretariat of the Congress, the Program of the 9th Annual Congress of VFF for the term 2022-2026 and the Regulations on organizing the Congress according to regulations.

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – President of the Vietnam Football Federation emphasized: “This is a very important event in the process of continuing to promote the implementation of solutions to successfully implement the goals, the tasks of Vietnamese football in the new stage of development, especially the role of orientation and strategic vision for Vietnamese football in the spirit of the 9th Vietnam Football Federation Congress (term 2022-2026), which is is: “Joining together for sustainable football development”.

The Congress approved:

– Review report of the Executive Committee at the 2023 Annual Congress of the Vietnam Football Federation, session IX (term 2022 – 2026);

– Report summarizing the work in 2023 and directions and tasks for 2024 of VFF;

– Expected activity plan for the last 3 months of 2023 and 2024 activity plan of the National Teams;

– Approve the audited 2022 financial report of VFF;

– Approve the 2024 financial budget estimate of VFF;

Speaking at the closing of the Congress, President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Quoc Tuan thanked the sense of responsibility of all participating delegates and emphasized: “Vietnamese football is honored to be awarded great rewards by the Party and Government. This is recognition of the efforts of Vietnamese football in the past period. In 2024, Vietnamese football faces opportunities and challenges. Key tasks and solutions were also presented to the Congress, in which VFF has seriously and drastically invested in football. We look forward to the support and coordination of the professional club in the activities of the upcoming Vietnamese national teams. Especially the development of young players. The synchronization of the competition system, investment in youth training, and the financial system must be linked together, creating momentum for development. VFF is committed to providing drastic direction to realize the resolution passed by the Congress.”

The 2023 Annual Congress of the Vietnam Football Federation, term IX (term 2022 – 2026) agreed to assign the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation to receive comments from delegates at the Congress to complete documents, develop an action program, Implementation plan to successfully implement the Resolution of the 2023 VFF Annual Congress, term IX (term 2022 – 2026).
