Opening Ceremony of the AFC Futsal Level 1 Certificate Coaching Course in Ho Chi Minh City
From June 30 to July 5, 2025, the AFC Futsal Level 1 Certificate Coaching Course is taking place at Thai Son Nam Arena in Ho Chi Minh City, jointly organized by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Thai Son Nam Club.
Attending the opening ceremony this morning on behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) was Mr. Mai Anh Hoang – Deputy Director of Grassroots, Coaching Education and Affiliated MAs, along with the course instructors: Mr. Ngo Le Bang – Technical Director of Thai Son Nam Futsal Club, and Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh – Head Coach of Thai Son Nam Futsal Club. The ceremony also welcomed Mr. Nguyen Bao Trung – Organizing Committee Member and Deputy Executive Director of Thai Son Nam Futsal Club, and Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy – Organizing Committee Member and Deputy Director of Thai Son Nam Arena.
Speaking on behalf of the instructors and organizing committee at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ngo Le Bang expressed his delight at seeing many familiar faces attending the course — most of whom are former futsal players or current and former members of the national and U20 futsal teams, such as Nguyen Minh Tri, Dang Phi Tien, Duong Ngoc Linh, Vu Duc Tung, Tran Quang Toan, and Y Zen Nie Kdam.
“The generation of Minh Tri and Phi Tien has worked together in many tournaments. I would like to emphasize one point: my appreciation to the organizing committee — within just a few days, we managed to obtain AFC approval and prepare everything, which was no easy task. I also thank the Vietnam Football Federation for developing a quality team of instructors in recent years. We now have many qualified instructors and a proactive approach to training. Hopefully, VFF will continue to expand its instructor network in the future.
Lastly, on behalf of the organizing committee, I wish all participants good health to endure the intensive and demanding days ahead. The course benefits from being held at Thai Son Nam Arena, which offers excellent futsal facilities. I hope all coaches achieve great results. Wishing everyone good health,” said instructor Ngo Le Bang.
In his role as assistant instructor and marking his first time teaching in an AFC course, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh expressed his honor to have the opportunity to learn from Mr. Ngo Le Bang, a long-standing futsal instructor.
“He is an excellent instructor who has trained many futsal coaches for Vietnam. The participants in this course are the ones who will shape the future of Vietnamese futsal. Our goal is to build a strong foundation and look toward the future. Over the next six days, we will learn from one another, share experiences, and work together to identify and nurture future futsal coaches,” said Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh.
Speaking on behalf of the course organizers at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Bao Trung – Organizing Committee Member and Deputy Executive Director of Thai Son Nam Futsal Club – shared that this Level 1 course is jointly organized by Thai Son Nam Club and the Vietnam Football Federation to train future futsal coaches.
“Thai Son Nam has hosted many similar coaching courses in the past. Most of the participants are current or former professional futsal players, some of whom have played or are currently playing for the Vietnam national futsal team. They represent the future of Vietnamese futsal in general and of Thai Son Nam Club in particular.
We hope that after this course, player-coaches will better understand the challenges faced by head coaches. Many have only experienced the game from a player’s perspective; through this course, we hope they will gain deeper insight and feel a greater sense of responsibility toward their teams. Wishing everyone a successful and productive course,” said Mr. Nguyen Bao Trung.
On behalf of the participants, class representative Nguyen Minh Tri expressed his gratitude to the Vietnam Football Federation and Thai Son Nam Club for organizing the course and shared his excitement to be learning alongside fellow participants.
Speaking for the entire class, Minh Tri also pledged to make the most of the opportunity by studying hard and gaining valuable knowledge, with the goal of completing the six-day course in the most meaningful and fulfilling way possible.
