Quarter-final lineup finalised
The cast for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ Kuwait 2022 was finalised following the completion of the group stage on Sunday.
Thailand, the Group A winners, will face Group B runners-up Tajikistan, who ended a 15-year wait to make a reappearance in the quarter-finals.
Group B winners Uzbekistan – who have emerged runners-up four times – will face hosts Kuwait in their last eight showdown.
Group C winners Iran, seeking a 13th title, will face Group D runners-up Vietnam.
Three-time champions Japan – who lost 2-1 to Saudi Arabia in their opener – defeated Vietnam 2-0 on Sunday to finish as the Group D winners and will face Group C runners-up Indonesia, who booked their place with a 4-1 defeat of Chinese Taipei.
The winners of the Uzbekistan-Kuwait tie will face the victors of the Japan-Indonesia match in the semi-finals with the other last four tie to be contested by the winners of the Thailand-Tajikistan and Iran-Vietnam quarter-final games.
