The Vietnam U17 Women’s National Team is preparing to play a friendly match against the Thailand U17 Women’s National Team
According to the plan, from March 28 to April 4, the Vietnam U17 Women’s National Team will hold their first training camp of 2025 in preparation for the international friendly match against the Thailand U17 Women’s National Team, which is scheduled for April 3.
The list of 24 athletes called up includes players from various regions: Ho Chi Minh City (6), Ha Nam (5), Hanoi (4), Thai Nguyen (2), Quang Ninh, and Son La (1 player each), as well as 5 players from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) U17 Women’s National Team squad.
Notably, during this training camp, the U17 Vietnam Women’s National Team will be led by the experienced coach from Japan, Okiyama Masahiko. He officially took on the role of head coach for the Vietnam U17 and U20 Women’s National Teams in early March 2025. The coaching staff assisting Coach Okiyama at the U17 Women’s National Team includes former national players Pham Thi Toi, Bui Thi Nhu, goalkeeper coach Nguyen Dinh Hai, along with a doctor and an interpreter.
According to the plan, the entire team will gather on March 28 and have 5 days to prepare for the international friendly match against the Thailand U17 Women’s National Team, scheduled for 15:00 on April 3 at the Police Academy Stadium. This friendly match is part of the activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand.
