U23 Vietnam visits the competition stadium, practiced against the opponent
On the afternoon of February 17, U23 Vietnam had a tour of the official stadium. After that, coach Dinh The Nam’s and players went to the training ground to continue the exercises to prepare for the opening match at the 2022 AFF U23 Championship.
In order to ensure the ground for the matches, the organizers did not allow the teams to have official training in the main stadium. Instead, U23 Vietnam had a tour to feel the space, walk to try the feeling of the grass of Prince Stadium.
The tour lasts about 30 minutes. According to the players, the ground is quite flat, the grass is beautiful. Coach Dinh The Nam said: “The ground here is very beautiful to me. This is also a new stadium. The stadium is good but the grass is big. In the past time, we have been practicing on the small grass field. This is something we need to adapt to right away.”
After that, U23 Vietnam went to the training ground. Head coach Dinh The Nam came to the stadium to watch the match between U23 Singapore and U23 Thailand, he captured the strengths of Singapore U23. So in this training session, he also briefly sketched the strengths of the Singaporean players, in which their players have a good height.
In order to overcome this strength of the opponent, coach Dinh The Nam asked the players to practice the exercises that belong to each individual’s forte as well as the tactics that have been built up by the coaching assistants in recent years.
The training session ended after 70 minutes of practice on the ground. Up to this point, 6 players who have had digestive problems in the past days have fully recovered and have been training on the afternoon of February 17. However, player Truong Duc Manh had a cold, so he could not play with the teammates.
Evaluation of Singapore U23, head coach Dinh The Nam said: “We are also lucky that on the afternoon of February 16, we went to watch Singapore team played. Overall assessment, Singapore can be in good shape. Especially in the midfield and midfield positions. Their style of play, the speed of the long pass behind the player No.9 is very dangerous. As I knew, he is the third son of former Singapore player Fandi Ahmad. Physically, they are very good.”
As planned, U23 Vietnam will have a practice session to get used to the lights on the Army stadium from 18:00 to 19:00 on February 18. This is also the last training session of head coach Dinh The Nam and his team before entering the opening match against Singapore U23, which took place on February 19.
