Vietnam National team competes with Russia National team and Thailand National team during FIFA Days in September 2024.
As part of the preparation plan for the 2024 South East Asian Championship, Vietnam National team will participate in the International Friendly Tournament during FIFA Days in September 2024, organized by the Vietnam Football Federation with the participation of very high-quality visiting teams, Russia National team and Thailand National team.

The Russian National team is currently ranked 33rd in the FIFA rankings, considered one of the strong teams in Europe and the world, with 11 appearances at the World Cup and qualifying to the semi-finals and quater-final in 1966 and 2018. Recently, although not participating in official UEFA and FIFA tournaments, the Russian National team has maintained the high performance through friendly matches. Recently, the Russian national team won Serbia and Belarus with the same score 4-0.

The Russian National team has impressive names such as “prolific striker” Artem Dzyuba, who plays for Lokomotiv Moscow, young midfielder Aleksandr Golovin, who plays for AS Monaco, midfielder Arsen Zakharyan of Real Sociedad, and striker Fedor Smolov, who played for Krasnodar, Celta Vigo, and currently Dynamo Moscow. The Russian National team is currently led by Head coach – Mr Valeri Georgievich Karpin – a former famous midfielder who played for many famous teams in Russia (Fake Voronezh, Spartak Moscow) and Spain (Real Sociedad, Valencia CF and Celta Vigo).
Meanwhile, the Thai National team is a very familiar name to Vietnamese fans and is considered a traditional rival of the Vietnamese team. Recently, the Thailand National team has been playing very well, continuously accumulating points and surpassing the Vietnam National team to rise to the top teams of the Southeast Asian region on the FIFA rankings. The quality of the Thailand National team’s squad with prominent names expected such as Chanathip Songkrasin, Teerasil Dangda, Supachok Sarachat, Suphanat Mueanta… promises to be an effective and strong “test” for the Vietnam National team, this is also an opportunity for Head coach Kim Sang Sik and his team to test their strength and have the best preparation for the South East Asian Championship 2024.
