VFF’s President receives LaLiga representatives to promote cooperation in youth football development and coach training
Today (April 15), at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Mr. Trần Quốc Tuấn – President of the VFF – had a meeting and discussion with Mr. Ivan Codina – Managing Director SEA,Japan, Korea, Australia & New Zealand. Also in attendance were Mr. Pablo Casaos – LALIGA Delegate in Vietnam, and Ms. Nguyễn Thanh Hà – Deputy General Secretary of the VFF.
At the meeting, Mr. Ivan Codina shared plans to continue effectively implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at promoting cooperation with the Vietnam Football Federation (signed on September 6, 2023, and valid until June 2026). The LaLiga representative expressed hopes to expand the youth football training system in Vietnam, building on the success of the LALIGA Football Academy in Ho Chi Minh City. LaLiga also expressed its intention to push forward with plans to establish one to two more academies in the northern region, aiming to increase access to high-quality football training for young talents.
In addition, both sides initially agreed on key directions for cooperation through 2026. The focus areas include the development of youth football, improving the quality of coaching, and organizing training programs and practical workshops for coaches currently working at professional football clubs in Vietnam.
During the meeting, the VFF President and LaLiga representatives also agreed to work closely together to effectively implement the MoU, with the shared goal of developing Vietnamese football in a professional and sustainable manner.
