The 6th VFF’s Congress: Because of the sustainable integration and development of Vietnamese football.

This afternoon (14/10), at the Large Hall – Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre was taking place in the preparatory session of the 6th VFF’s Congress (period 2009-2013) with the participation of 151 delegates, including 119 delegates of Football Federation Members. clubs, football teams and 32/38 members of the Executive Committee of VFF Term V.

After introducing and approving the Presidium, the Secretariat and the Delegate Eligibility Inspection Committee, the Congress heard and approved the report of the Delegate Eligibility Inspection Committee with the presentation of Mr Nguyen Nam Hung – Head of Committee. Accordingly, it will have 72 member organisations entitled to vote at the Congress, in which 3 members have applied to join VFF and will be presented to Congress for approval of membership.

In the speech for the opening ceremony of Preparatory Session – the 6th VFF’s Congress, VFF President Nguyen Trong Hy emphasises: “At this congress, each of us need to aware that the route for renovation and integration of Vietnames football based on each member’s outstanding efforts in the progress of the organisation apparatus self-determination, in accordance with rules and regulations to operate and monitor the operation process of football effectively. Each delegate, each member needs to be fully aware that this is an important congress, a chance to transfer from limited football to an active operating mechanism for creating a sustainable development in every football activities both domestic and international”. 

On the spirit of Wisdom – Solidarity – Development, the members of the 6th VFF’s Congress – Preparatory Session heard, discussed and approved work regulations of congress, approved work program of congress, approved revised report, supplement the charters of VFF, commented and voted to approve amendments, supplement charters. The delegates also proposed the Congress approve the regulation on inviting the Honorary President of VFF Charter, starting from Term VI.

The delegates also considered and decided to propose the settlements of the complaints of Sai Gon United Clubs with the 6th VFF’s Congress, unanimously decided to establish the Election Committee, approved the candidate list for the Executive Committee of VFF Term VI and the list of introduction for Federation Inspector Committee. Particularly, the candidate list for the key positions will be approved after having the new Executive Committee. 

The Preparatory Session also unanimously approved the list of presidiums and Election regulations, which will be applied at the 6th VFF’s Congress, period 2009-2013.

The 6th VFF’s Congress received special attention from the leaders of Party, State and Government. Despite being busy with business, State President Nguyen Minh Triet and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung sent flowers to congratulate the Congress. Besides, to demonstrate the attention of the Government with the 6th VFF’s Congress, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan will attend and speak at the opening ceremony. This is really a great encouragement for Vietnamese football’s people.

One more good news before congress, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to award the Certificates of Merit for the Executive Committee of VFF Term V at the congress. The Congress will also take time honoring individuals who were awarded AFC’s medals during the Term V and honoring the outstanding achievements of 3 coaches who have successfully led Vietnamese teams to compete: Henrique Calisto, Tran Van Phat and Mai Duc Chung.

The 6th VFF’s Congress, period 2009-2013 will be opened at 8h30 tomorrow (15/10/2009) at the Large Hall – Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre.
