Qualifiers Group A: Australia, Vietnam confirm places
Viet Tri City: Australia and Vietnam booked their places in the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup™ Uzbekistan 2024 Finals after registering their second successive wins in Group A on Monday.

Lebanon 0-3 Vietnam
Having had to work hard for their opening 3-2 win over Iran, Vietnam started on the front foot against a Lebanon side who needed victory after their 5-0 defeat to Australia on Matchday One.
Vietnam, despite dominating, had to wait till first half stoppage time for their opening goal with Ngoc Minh Chuyen slotting home.
Midfielder Ho Thi Thanh Thao doubled their lead in the 77th minute and Ngoc confirmed the points and Vietnam’s place in the Finals with her second of the match two minutes later.
IR Iran 0-3 Australia
Kahli Johnson starred with a brace as Australia continued from where they left off in their opening match against Lebanon.
Johnson, who scored once in the 5-0 win over Lebanon, netted twice within a minute to put Australia in a commanding position against Iran.
The first was scored in the 28th minute with Johnson remarkably finding the back of the net again seconds later.
Substitute Ella O’Grady added the third in the 84th minute.
Group B kicks off on Tuesday with China PR playing Chinese Taipei in the opening match with hosts Myanmar to face Nepal later in the day.
The Round 2 Groups A and B winners and runners-up will join the three highest-seeded teams from the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship Thailand 2019 – Japan, DPR Korea and Korea Republic – as well as host nation Uzbekistan at the Finals next year.
