Hanoi FC Celebrates 20th Anniversary and Receives Second-Class Labour Order

On the evening of June 8 in Hanoi, Hanoi Football Club solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate its 20th anniversary and receive the Second-Class Labour Order. This milestone recognizes the outstanding achievements of one of Vietnam’s most successful and tradition-rich football clubs, as well as its long-standing contributions to youth development and the nurturing of talent for Vietnam’s national teams.

The event was attended by Mr. Le Khanh Hai, Member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Office of the President; Mr. Le Hai Binh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Tran The Cuong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council; Ms. Vu Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Committee; Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF); Mr. Do Quang Hien, Founder and Executive Chairman of T&T Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SHB; along with members of Hanoi Football Club.

Authorized by the State President, Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, presented the Second-Class Labor Order to Hanoi Football Club.

Over 20 years of establishment and development, starting from a Third League team, Hanoi FC has risen to become one of the most successful clubs in Vietnamese football, securing 6 national championship titles (V.League 1), 3 National Cups, 5 National Super Cups, alongside numerous other outstanding achievements. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, highly commended Hanoi FC’s 20-year journey from the Third League to the pinnacle of domestic football. He emphasized that the club’s most commendable aspect is its sustainable development strategy, with youth training explicitly identified as the cornerstone. Multiple generations of players nurtured by Hanoi FC have grown to form the backbone of the national team.

The Deputy Minister expressed his confidence that with its tradition, resilience, aspiration to contribute, and spirit of innovation, Hanoi FC will continue to maintain its position as one of the leading clubs in Vietnamese football, contributing even more to the national teams and the development of the country’s sports.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), acknowledged Hanoi FC’s well-structured development plans, which have successfully established and refined a comprehensive youth training system to discover and nurture talents, making significant contributions to the overall success of Vietnamese football over the past two decades. He highly praised generations of talented players, such as Thanh Luong, Van Quyet, Hung Dung, Duy Manh, Quang Hai, and Van Hau, whose names are closely associated with the triumphs of Vietnamese football on both regional and continental stages.

Most recently, with the contributions of head coach Cristiano Roland and six players from Hanoi FC, the Vietnam national U17 team excellently qualified for the FIFA U17 World Cup 2026 in Qatar for the first time in history.

Ms. Vu Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, and Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), presented Certificates of Merit from the Hanoi People’s Committee and flowers to individuals with outstanding achievements playing for the national U17 team

Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), emphasized that the Federation always recognizes and highly appreciates Hanoi FC’s contributions to the development of Vietnamese football in general and the national teams in particular. He also expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Do Quang Hien for dedicating extensive resources to investing in football in a well-structured manner, focusing on building a sustainable foundation through youth training, establishing a professional management system, and constantly accompanying the national teams.

Twenty years marks a proud journey for Hanoi FC, characterized by outstanding achievements on the pitch and significant contributions to Vietnamese football. The Second-Class Labor Order is a well-deserved recognition of the persistent efforts made by multiple generations, while simultaneously opening a new chapter of development with the burning aspiration to continue contributing to the nation’s football.
