Binh Duong dropped two potentially costly points in the race on top with Da Nang after a 1-1 draw with Hoa Phat Hanoi at home on April 21. The draw earned Binh Duong top spot from Da Nang, who visit Hanoi one day later, but the gap between them is one point.

The home side dominated the game but went 1-0 down just before half-time with Jucelio B.D. Silva putting the visitors ahead.
Nguyen Anh Duc came off bench to equalised for the hosts, who failed to extended the gap with Da Nang to three points.
Goalkeeper Manh Dung was the hero for Hoa Phat Hanoi, making many good saves to keep the hosts at bay.
Elsewhere in Long An, defending champions Dong Tam Long An have yet to break the Song Lam Nghe An jinx, drawing 0-0 with their visitors PVFC Song Lam Nghe An.
Dong Tam Long An have yet to beat Song Lam Nghe An at home since 2003, when they won promoted to Vietnamese football”s top flight.
Binh Duong welcomed back goalkeeper Nguyen The Anh, and centreback Vu Nhu Thanh, who missed Binh Duong”s recent games due to different reasons.
Determined to extend a lead with Da Nang, who are expected to have a tough game in Hanoi, Binh Duong dominated the game with Hoa Phat Hanoi after kick-off.

In the first ten minutes, Quang Thanh and Vu Phong wasted opportunities to put the hosts in front. Quang Thanh”s header was cleared by Hoa Phat Hanoi”s defenders while Vu Phong”s volley was saved by goalkeeper Manh Dung.
Vu Phong should have needed more luck to find the net. He shot past Manh Dung but inches wide after 20 minutes.
Hoa Phat Hanoi, who lined up three players excellent at playing counter attack, Willians Dos Santos, Da Silva and Antonio Fernando Padinha, were dangerous when they came for counter-attacks. Two minutes from the interval, Dos Santos provided a through ball for skipper Da Silva, who beat goalkeeper The Anh with a powerful low strike.
After the break, Nguyen Anh Duc, who was rested in the first half after his duty for the Olympic team, and Nguyen Huu Thang, who has recovered from injuries, came in for Van Linh and Diego as the hosts created many chances.
Anh Duc headed home the equaliser eight minutes from time, finishing Vu Phong”s corner kick after Philani, Huu Thang, Vu Phong and Amaobi squandered many chances.
Binh Duong”s manager Le Thuy Hai could not hide his disappointment when his men earned a point from the match, thus failing to go clear on top.
Hoa Phat Hanoi, with a point, have moved out of the danger zone, but they might return to it if three other bottom teams, Southern Steel Saigon Port, Dong Thap and ACB.HN win matches on April 22.

The hosts have several chances but failed to convert into goals. Viet Thang could have scored after nine minutes, beating the off-side trap but failing to beat on-rushing goalkeeper Hong Son.
This was the only chance of the hosts in the first half, while the visitors were unable to produce any pressure on the home side”s defence.
Five minutes into the second half, centreback Quang Trai failed to get his touch to the ball after Minh Phuong”s freekick at the far post.
Viet Thang continued his unlucky run, heading Quoc Huan”s cross directly at Hong Song.
The best opportunity of the visitors went to Valdinei, who failed to capitalise goalkeeper Fabio Dos Santos”s error shooting the ball to his teammate, which fell onto Valdinei path, but the striker opted to pass it to Oliveira, wasting a good chance.
