The 11th Conference of the 8th VFF Executive Committee (term 2018-2022)
On November 5, 2022 at the headquarters of VFF, the 11th Conference of the VFF Executive Committee term VIII 2018-2022 was held. This is also the last meeting of the VIII VFF Executive Committee (term of 2018-2022) with many important contents approved by resolution, especially plans related to the organization of tournaments and national teams in 2023 and the organization of the 9th Congress (term 2022-2026).
The delegation included the Bureau of VFF Executive Committee, including Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – VFF Acting President, Mr.Cao Van Chong – VFF Vice President, Mr.Le Van Thanh – VFF Vice President, Mr.Tran Anh Tu – Member of the Bureau of Executive Committee; members of the VFF Executive Committee term VIII (term of 2018-2022); Chairpersons of Committees: Inspection, Complaint settlement; Chairman of the National Coach Council, representatives of Bongdaplus, General Secretary and Deputy General Secretaries is summoned to report related works at the Conference.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, on behalf of the Bureau of Executive Committee, Acting President Tran Quoc Tuan thanked the Executive Committee in term 2018-2022 term for showing a sense of responsibility, always closely following and directing the implementation of the tasks and timely have breakthrough and oriented solutions for the work of VFF, thereby helping Vietnamese football to achieve outstanding achievements and successfully implement the Resolution of the Congress term VIII, meeting the attention of leaders at all levels and the expectations of a large number of domestic and foreign fans.
Regarding the organization of the IX VFF Congress (term of 2022-2026), the Conference heard reports from Subcommittees under the Conference Organizing Committee. The Conference recognized and appreciated the efforts of the Organizing Committee when ensuring that all preparations for the Congress were carried out in accordance with the process and met the requirements. The conference also agreed to approve the list of collectives and individuals with outstanding contributions to Vietnamese football during the VIII term of the VFF to conduct commendation on the occasion of the 9th VFF congress (term 2022-2026).
The Conference discussed and unanimously approved the Program of the 9th Congress; Regulations on organization of the Congress and Election Regulations; List of candidates for key positions, Executive Committee, Inspection Committee term 9th and documents of the Congress.
In addition to the organization of the 9th Congress, the Conference also approved important reports related to the organization of national professional football tournaments in 2023, reports on key tasks and solutions for national teams in 2023.
The Conference approved the proposal to use Vietnamese-foreign players and foreign players in national professional and non-professional football tournaments:
– National professional and non-professional football tournament: Each club can register 01 Vietnamese-foreign player*.
– National Futsal Championship and National Cup Futsal: Each club can register 01 Vietnamese-foreign player and 01 foreign player.
Before that, the VFF conducted consultations and received the overwhelming support of professional clubs, women’s clubs and futsal clubs on the fact that each club can register 01 foreign player of Vietnamese origin. This will contribute to attracting talented and aspirational players to Vietnamese football; take highly advantage on the capacity and intelligence of the Vietnamese community living abroad.
Regarding the plan to organize professional football tournaments in 2023, according to a report of VPF Company, starting from the 2023 season, AFC implemented a roadmap on changing the calendar of organizing the AFC tournament system. Accordingly, the AFC Cup and AFC Champions League start in August 2023 and end in May 2024. Based on that orientation, in order to help Vietnamese clubs prepare for the tournaments as well as suitable for international transfers, the 2023 national professional tournaments will also change in accordance with the AFC system. At the same time, there will also be calculations on scheduling matches to ensure that the national teams perform their international duties.
