HCM City overcame Ha Tay 2-1 at Cam Pha Stadium in Quang Ninh northern province, considered the final match of the national women”s football championship 2005 as it decided the overall winner.
 
With the win, HCM City grabbed a total of 22 points in the final standings while Ha Tay finished with 19 points and had to settle for the runner-up.
 
During this final game”, Ha Tay fell behind as HCM City took a 1-0 lead on a goal at 75 minutes by Hong Tien before Ha Tay leveled the game seven minutes later.
With two minutes left on the score clock, Kim Chi scored her second of the game for HCM City, clinching the victory at 2-1.
 
In another match yesterday, Ha Noi tied 1-1 against Cua Ong Coal. With this tie, Ha Noi had to be satisfied with the fourth position.
 
In an earlier match, a youthful Ha Nam beat a weak Thai Nguyen to pocket all three points and secure the third place with a 7-0 victory. This was the second bronze medal for the team in the championships.
 
The championship wraps up in time for the Vietnamese national women”s football team to gather September 5 for training to prepare for November”s Sea Games 23 in the Philippines.
