Upgrade the ball stop netting system at Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre

With the support of UEFA, through the project “UEFA Assist”, and permission of the VFF Permanent Executive Committee, on 2nd May 2020, Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre started a project “Install ball stop netting system for stadium 1 and 2”.

This project will improve training facilities for national teams and youth competitions at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre. On 1st June 2020, after 1 month working, the new ball stop netting system completed and used at Women U-19 National Championship 2020.

This project belongs to the UEFA’s Fund for the member association of AFC to provide proper training facilities, improve youth football through competitions, and develop human resources.

UEFA’s Fund first-time worked at Vietnam in 2019, through the introduction of AFC. That year, VFF successful organized the Women’s U-15 International Championship at Hanoi and Men’s U-15 International Championship at Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu. The participation of the European teams brought a new style for youth football not only in Vietnam but also in the region. These tournaments were good opportunities for young players to learn experiences while playing with the developed football team in the world.

After evaluated the project 2019, UEFA decided to continue to spend the fund of 2020 for Vietnamese Football to upgrade training facilities, particularly is installing the ball stop netting system at Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre. With the commitment to effectively use the investment of UEFA for development projects, VFF hopes to continue to receive UEFA’s sponsorship in the coming period. It will be a part to contribute to Vietnamese Football, especially youth football.
