Vietnam Football Federation Vice President Trần Anh Tú appointed as Head of AFC Beach Soccer Delegation at the 2026 Asian Beach Games
Trần Anh Tú, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation, has once again earned the trust of the Asian Football Confederation by being appointed as Head of the AFC delegation in charge of beach soccer at the Asian Beach Games 2026. This is a significant role, reflecting the AFC’s recognition of his organizational and managerial capabilities, as well as the growing reputation of Vietnamese football leadership at the continental level.
The beach soccer event at this year’s Games features seven teams divided into two groups. Group A includes China, Oman, and Palestine, while Group B consists of Iran, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and the UAE. The teams will compete in a single round-robin format within each group, with the top two teams advancing to the semifinals. The winners of the semifinals will contest the gold medal match, while the losing teams will compete for the bronze medal.
According to the schedule, the beach soccer matches will take place from April 23 to 29 in Sanya, Hainan (China). Preparations have been carried out comprehensively to ensure all organizational, technical, and competition standards set by the Asian Football Confederation are met.
Speaking on behalf of the AFC at the technical meeting held this morning (April 22), Trần Anh Tú, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation, extended his welcome to all participating teams, officials, and players. He emphasized that the tournament brings together some of Asia’s top teams, serving not only as a platform to showcase professional quality but also to promote unity, friendship, and fair play in beach soccer. He also highly appreciated the thorough preparations made by the local organizing committee, volunteers, and all relevant stakeholders in delivering a high-quality competition, contributing to the overall success of the Games.
Trần Anh Tú is currently a member of the AFC Futsal and Beach Soccer Committee. He is widely recognized as one of the key figures in laying the foundation and driving the development of futsal in Vietnam, contributing to the training of multiple generations of quality players and helping Vietnamese futsal gradually affirm its position at both regional and global levels.
